Direct Portable Buildings are pleased to announce that Thermal Break Insulation will be available as an optional extra and in the very near future be standard in all of our, granny flats, demountable homes and portable buildings.

This is a fantastic product, particularly when use with steel frame buildings that we use in our Granny Flats.  The main purpose of this type of insulation is to inhibit the heat transfer from metal cladding or any type of cladding to the steel frame. It adds so much value to the thermal quality of the buildings. We use one the highest rated products on the market, achieving impressive thermal performance coupled with acoustic benefits. It has some of the highest reflectivity values on the market while retaining effective cost savings due to the additional overlap piece, one of the premium products available. Installed total system R-values* range up to R2.3 for walls, R2.8 for Metal Roofs and R2.4 for Tile Roofs. Coupled with R2.0 Glasswool Batts and 10mm Gyprock gives you over R4.3 in the walls which is well above industry standards.
